Whereas, banning of plastics, and the alternative consumer products being used as a result of the ban, is having a negative effect on the environment;

 

Whereas, new research shows the presence of perfluoroalkyl substances in commercially available drinking straws, and that perfluoroalkyl has been linked to a number of diseases and increased risks of cancer;

 

Whereas, the repackaging of food products at the border to comply with plastic bans will substantially increase the cost of food for Canadians;

 

WE THE UNDERSIGNED hereby call on the Trudeau government to remove and withdraw their attempt to ban plastic products in the Canadian marketplace.
